Welding Foreman
RESPONSIBLE TO Welding Engineer
OBJECTIVE To ensure all welding activities are carried out in accordance with the
required quality and safety standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Responsible for organization, management and co-ordination of all activities assigned to his
supervision, including the quality of work performed and compliance with Company HSE
Policy.
•Ensure that the workforce is briefed on safety considerations throughout the execution of
the work.
•Provide Tool Box Talks (TBT) as required by the nature of the job.
•Responsible for all welding activities during production welding and structural welding as
required during the winter repair.
•Ensure all the relevant contractual / project specific requirements are identified, understood
and implemented.
•Control use, storage and re-order of all welding consumables in accordance with Company
procedures and Client specifications.
•Liaise with QC supervisor / radiographic interpreters to maintain quality levels and identify
any defect trends at the earliest stage.
•Monitor welding parameters and report any deficiency to the Welding Engineer or his
assistant.
•Any additional duties within own experience and capability as advised by the Welding
Engineer.
AUTHORITY
•Organize, within the frame of his responsibilities, the welding activities
•Assign work tasks to the welding crew(s).
•Cease any operation and take any action he deems necessary until the welding engineer is
notified.
QUALIFICATIONS
•As per Company external qualification and training matrix.
•Basic English.
EXPERIENCE
•At least five (5) years as Welder Foreman.
•Knowledge of the Smaw Welding System

RESPONSIBILITIES
•To assist the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendent with solving technical
problems during project preparation and offshore project operations.
•To follow up the instructions as described in the Project installation manuals, to complete
the relevant checklists and to report any discrepancies.
•To follow up the status of project equipment and consumables with the assistance of the
Assistant Superintendent and Chief Storekeeper, QA/QC supervisor and Welding Engineer.
•Liaise with Subcontractors to ensure preparation and execution of the work is in accordance
with the approved manuals.
•To monitor the Project QC system on board and report any deficiencies in collaboration
with the QA/QC Supervisor.
•To issue, with the assistance of the QA/QC Supervisor, the necessary reports and other
documentation required as per contract to the Technical Clerk for onward transmittal and
approval by the Superintendent. These standards reports include but are not limited to :
•Daily progress report
•Pipe laying records: pipe lay productivity,
•Construction records: lifting, pile driving, dimensional, leveling, grouting, swaging,
•Status reports
•Subcontractors reports
•Deviations from procedures, non-conformance’s and site queries
AUTHORITY
•Request technical assistance from PMT in consultation with the Superintendent
•To cease any operation on grounds of technical or quality reasons until the Assistant
Superintendent is notified
QUALIFICATIONS
•As per Company external qualification and training matrix.
•Fluent in verbal and written English.
EXPERIENCE
•Engineering degree or equivalent.
•Minimum two (2) years’ experience in offshore construction or similar supervisory
capacity.
