Responsibilities

‐ Secure safe and sound economic operations/management (crew, vessel, cargo, environment, living conditions).

‐ Always be aware you are representing the company.

‐ Secure a good and safe working atmosphere on board.

‐ Manage all crew on board and monitor execution of tasks (daily rounds on deck and ER!)

‐ Secure the safety on board. All persons on board are using the appropriate PPE.

‐ Ensure vessel is well prepared for (external) audits at all times.

‐ Be aware of contingency plans and how to apply them.

‐ Be prepared to solve emergencies, malfunctions and the use of safety back‐ups.

‐ Be familiar with the management system and procedures.

‐ Monitoring the minimum stock on board (food, spare parts).

‐ You have overriding authority (decision making with respect to safety and pollution prevention).

‐ Secure correct and sound documentary operations (e.g. cargo‐docs, PMS, MLC).

‐ Secure compliance of on board inventory of hazardous materials.

‐ You are Medical Responsible Person (MRP) on board (medicine stock and health care).

‐ Responsible for cash and bonded stores.
